CWES PTO has tons of opportunities for Parents to be involved!

Dear Cogburn Woods Families,

 

Due to inclement weather forecasts, the much-anticipated CWE Carnival has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 28th (1PM-4PM).  We understand that this change may be an inconvenience for many of our families. Our priority is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

The PTO will be offering wristband refunds only for families that have already purchased event wristbands.  Refund requests can be submitted between April 19th – April 24th, 2024.  If you are no longer able to attend the new date or have concerns about the potential threat of adverse weather on April 28th, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity for a refund.  

Please note that we are actively monitoring the weather forecast for our rescheduled date of April 28th and there is potential for adverse weather on this date as well.  Should we have to cancel Carnival on April 28th, wristband refunds WILL NOT be provided under any circumstances.  

 

**No refund requests will be accepted after Wednesday, April 24th, 2024.**

 

HOW TO SUBMIT A REFUND REQUEST:

After logging into the PTO website, you will see an option to Submit a Carnival Refund Request.  We also made a short how-to video that can be found here: https://youtu.be/e6JwJgQe6qY.

Please note that we are unable to offer refunds on ticket purchases for this event.  Tickets are valuable and can be used as currency during the carnival. They can also be shared with friends and neighbors or used for entries into our exciting raffle baskets. If you haven't had the chance to check out our amazing raffle baskets yet, they're currently on display in the CWE Front Lobby.

You're welcome to drop by the school anytime between 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM from April 18th to April 26th to view the baskets and enter the drawing.  Don't miss out on this opportunity to win some fantastic prizes!

Welcome to the 2024

CWE Spring Carnival!

 

Our Spring Carnival is an annual event dating back nearly 20 years. It is hosted and executed by the Cogburn Woods PTO and is only possible with the support of the CWE Staff and help of many volunteers!

 

We are thrilled to host another year of fun in April of 2024. This is an outdoor event featuring 7 rides, many carnival games, a STEM activity sponsored by ColLab, food vendors including Boarding Pass Coffee and SMOKEJACK, a cakewalk, a DJ, and our FAMOUS BASKET RAFFLE!

 

And in 2024 we have BRAND NEW RIDES, a balloon artist, and all of our games* are INCLUDED in the cost of your wristband!

 

*Wristbands do NOT include the Cake Walk.

All Children in attendance MUST have a wristband to enter.

Parents do not need a wristband.

Cakewalk is not included in the price of a wristband.

 

Event Day Pricing

Wristbands: $30 each

 

 

Wristbands are used for Unlimited Carnival Rides and Games*:

  • *Cake Walk is NOT included in the price of a wristband.
  • NO TICKETS WILL BE ACCEPTED AS PAYMENT FOR RIDES. 
  • Children must have a wristband to enter the event.
  • Rides include: Inflatable Corn Maze, Dual Lane Pipe Rush, Hungry Hippo Chow Down, Toxic Rush Obstacle Course, Retro Obstacle Course, and the Ninja Climbing Wall.
  • Games include: Toss Tic-Tac-Toe, Minecraft Bean Bag Knock-Out, Lollipop Tree, and more.  Prizes* will be awarded at the games- no coins or prize stand this year.  *Prizes available while supplies last.

 


 

Tickets: $1 Each

 

Tickets will be used for all food, drinks, Cakewalk, and Basket Raffle Entries.

  • Cakewalk: 3 Tickets per person / per game
  • Basket Raffle: 1 ticket per entry / per basket
  • Drinks: Water 1 Ticket / Gatorade 2 Tickets 
  • SMOKEJACK: Hotdog 5 Tickets / Hamburger 6 Tickets 
  • Pizza: 3 Tickets/Slice
  • Chips: 2 Tickets
  • Boarding Pass Coffee: Ticket Prices Vary
  • Cotton Candy: 3 Tickets
  • Snow Cone: 3 Tickets

 


 

 

SMOKEJACK will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs on site from 1pm - 3pm during the event. 

First come, first serve.  We expect these to see out fast!

 


Boarding Pass Coffee will be serving up delicious drinks from 1pm - 4pm during the event.

 

 


 

Mina's Bakery will be serving sweet treats from 1pm - 4pm during the event!

 

 


We recommend that each child have a Wristband, 10 tickets for food, and a few to enter the basket raffle.  (Purchase a wristband and 15 tickets for the full experience for each child.)

 

All tickets and wristbands are non-refundable.  No exceptions.

Tickets purchased in previous years are not valid.

Proceeds support the Cogburn Woods PTO.

 

All pre-purchased wristbands and tickets will be available for pick up by parents in the front lobby on the following days and times:

  • Tuesday April 16th 7:30 am – 8:30 am
  • Wednesday April 17th 7:30 am – 8:30 am
  • Thursday April 18th 7:30 am - 8:30 am
  • Thursday April 18th 1pm - 2pm
  • Friday April 19th 7:30 am - 8:30 am
  • Friday April 19th 1pm - 2pm

 

Wristbands and tickets will not be sent home with students. Items not picked up will be available at Will Call next to the main entrance.

 

Wristbands and Tickets may be purchased during designated pickup times listed above for EXACT CASH OR CREDIT CARD ONLY.  NO CHANGE WILL BE AVAILABLE.  No personal checks allowed.

 

Event day ticket and wristband purchases will be available at the main entrance ticket booth.  Cash and credit card will be accepted on the day of the event.  Tickets and wristbands will be sold until 3:30 PM.  Basket Raffle drawing is at 4:00 PM.

 

 

Carnival Basket Information:

Each homeroom is asked to provide a themed basket to be raffled at our carnival.  Baskets are wrapped and displayed in the school the week prior to carnival.  On the event day, baskets will be displayed in the Cafeteria.  Winners will be drawn at 4:00 pm and baskets can be picked up at the end of carnival in the cafeteria.  Please make sure your name and phone number are clearly printed on your raffle tickets.  Tickets without all needed information will not be used as winners.  If we are unable to read the handwriting, we must draw another name as the winner.  A tip from the experts: Print your name and phone number on labels and use those on the back of tickets.  This is best done with pre-order raffle tickets.

 

Volunteers:

To hold a successful carnival, we depend on volunteers to make the event a success.  Volunteers will check-in to the left of the main entrance. Volunteers will be given a parking pass that allows access to the CWE parking spots in the upper parking lot on a first-come first-serve basis. Volunteer shifts are available through the CWE PTO website.

 

Parking:

General parking is on a first-come first-serve basis and will be available at Hopewell Middle School. Vehicles blocking the roads or intersections will be towed at the owner’s expense.  Emergency services will be provided by the City of Milton and must have access into and out of the school at all times.  Vendors and sponsors with tents will have reserved spaces in the lower front lot.  Handicap accessible parking will be available in the CWE parking lots as designated.

 

All parking at CWE will be limited to PTO Business Partners, CWE Staff, and our event Volunteers.   A parking attendant will ask to see either your parking pass issued by PTO or a CWE Staff ID Card.  All others will be redirected to Hopewell Middle School.  No exceptions.

 

Restroom Access:

Restroom access will be located inside the school at the Gymnasium. Classrooms and the rest of the school are closed to the public except for designated areas and personnel.
