Lunch Bunch is an optional book club for 4th- and 5th-grade students to enjoy a great book, connect with friends, and have lunch on the PTO! Students are assigned a book to read at home, then meet during lunch in small groups to discuss what they read and enjoy a few book-related activities.
Parent volunteers help make Lunch Bunch possible! There are a few ways to help:
📚 Discussion Facilitator
Join a small group of students during lunch and help guide their student-led book discussion. You’ll help keep the conversation moving, encourage everyone to participate, and jump in if they need a little help. We provide the discussion questions and book-related activities, so no prep or teaching experience is needed!
🔄 Backup Facilitator
Keep the Lunch Bunch time available and be ready to step in if a Discussion Facilitator can’t attend. We’ll give you at least one day’s notice if we need you. If you don’t hear from us, there’s no need to come in that day.
🥪 Lunch Prep Crew
Help behind the scenes before Lunch Bunch begins! You’ll work with our Lunch Bunch Coordinator to sort nuggets, chips, cookies, and drinks into labeled classroom baskets for both 4th and 5th grade. No book reading required for this role!
We provide everything you need, and no teaching experience is required. Thank you for helping us make Lunch Bunch a fun experience for our students!
